You will be reporting to the Head of Finance, who has stated that this opportunity can lead to even more exciting opportunities moving forwards (especially if you like to travel)! Whilst this company offer a flexible hybrid working model, you are welcome to come into the office on any day you wish to.

    Day-to-day responsibilities:

    • Invoice and cash receipt processing - onto SAGE
    • Managing and maintenance of the ledgers and cashbook
    • Support the Head of Finance and Finance Manager with supplying information for month end deadlines
    • Provide accurate and timely production of the monthly management accounts in a timely manner (within three days)
    • Providing information to and liaising with external auditors
    • Prioritisation of requests from Sales and Operations teams
    • Oversee the Credit Control and cash management functions for overseas
    • Manage administrative elements of the company Payroll function (which you will be trained in)

    What we need from you:

    • It is key that you have a strong understanding of the difference between credits and debits
    • Organisation and time management skills, with the ability to hit deadlines consistently
    • It is highly advantageous if you already have both Credit Control and Accounts Payable knowledge; or one or the other
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential - must be able to communicate with all levels of business both internally and externally
    • Ability to use Excel to a good standard (V-lookups, pivot table knowledge would be great)
    • Sage experience is advantageous

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide comprehensive financial, clerical, and administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the purchase ledger

    • Meet strict deadlines with precision and an unwavering attention to detail
    • Maintain clear communication channels for interacting with suppliers and internal stakeholders
    • Process supplier invoices efficiently and accurately
    • Manage the uploading/scanning, registration, and coding of invoices
    • Handle supplier queries promptly and professionally
    • Facilitate the processing of company credit cards using our latest software
    • Generate reports to monitor outstanding invoices and escalate issues internally when necessary
    • Conduct statement reconciliations and assist with treasury functions
    • Prepare VAT reports for both UK and International entities
    • Support month-end accounting processes with ad hoc reports and duties as required

    Requirements:

    • At least 1 years' worth of Accounts experience - ideally as a Purchase Ledger or Accounts Assistant - but general Accounts knowledge will be considered
    • Ability to communicate effectively over email and phone with internal and external stakeholders
    • An outgoing personality and openness to get on with others nicely!
    • Willingness to get stuck in, and not look to progress into another role for at least a year or two!
    • Proficiency in MS Excel - Vlookups knowledge is preferred

We are happy to consider candidates who solely have Purchase Ledger experience as well as experienced Accounts Assistants. You do not have to be an MS Excel expert for this role - in fact this is something this company is looking to move away from!

    Responsibilities:

    • Processing of purchase invoices, employee expenses and credits
    • Supplier statement and Bank reconciliations
    • Dealing with supplier queries via phone and email
    • Managing supplier data on the internal system
    • Payment runs (weekly)
    • Sales Ledger maintenance
    • Processing documentation, and general ad hoc Admin duties

    Desirable and essential requirements:

    • Previous Accounts/Financial software experience (Netsuite experience is desirable but not essential - although it can justify a higher salary level)
    • Prior experience in an Accounts-related role
    • Meticulous way of working with good common sense
    • Efficient and organised both digitally and personally
    • Willingness to speak out and recommend positive change

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage and maintain accurate records of outstanding debts and invoices
    • Chase overdue invoices via telephone, email, and letter
    • Allocate payments received to customer accounts promptly and accurately
    • Liaise with internal departments to resolve any billing queries
    • Monitor credit limits and make recommendations for credit holds or releases
    • Prepare reports on credit control activities for management review

    Requirements:

We are currently seeking a dedicated Finance Assistant to join this dynamic Finance Team consisting of 6 colleagues. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes and interactions across the organisation.

    This is an excellent opportunity for Accounts professionals to build on their existing knowledge and get involved in some higher-level responsibilities. The Finance Manager is keen to develop, train and support where necessary.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct bank account reconciliations with precision
    • Handle customer account queries promptly and professionally
    • Generate miscellaneous invoices as needed
    • Maintain cash flow forecasts to support financial planning
    • Collaborate on month-end journal postings for management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and payroll
    • Verify nominal ledger postings against budget to uphold accuracy in management accounts
    • Ensure seamless posting between systems by meticulously reviewing financial exports
    • Reconcile control accounts to the trial balance, addressing any discrepancies
    • Investigate and resolve queries that arise at month end
    • Assist in developing internal audit procedures
    • Support the closing of sales and purchase ledgers at month end

    Required Skills and Experience:

    • Ideally AAT qualified, part qualified, OR currently studying towards AAT (level 3 or 4 preferred); study support available
    • Proficiency in bank and supplier reconciliations
    • Ability to thrive under pressure, managing deadlines and prioritising tasks effectively
    • Strong attention to detail, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and follow-through
    • Competent IT skills, particularly in Excel (vlook-ups and pivot tables preferable)

    Maintain client records on Intelligent Office to ensure they are up to date and accurate and in line with company standards.
    Be aware of limits of authorisation, in particular, know when to refer queries to a suitably qualified individual.
    Be adequately prepared for regular and annual review meetings with supervisor.
    Promote professional behaviour by demonstrating courtesy and respect to all colleagues and following the Company's equality and diversity policy at all times.
    Ensuring health and safety policies are observed.
