    • Qualifications: Preferably AAT Qualified but not essential

    If you're a current Assistant Accountant or Assistant Management Accountant looking for a role with more exposure and somewhere you can get involved in more of the end to end process, this could be your next step!

    As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the finance function. Working alongside a collaborative finance team, as well as involvement in credit control, you'll be responsible for supporting on the month-end processes, financial reporting, and cash flow management. You'll also engage with Operations to oversee stock control and provide financial analysis to aid in decision-making. This is a hands-on position perfect for someone who enjoys tackling a broad range of tasks in a fast-paced, supportive environment. Being an SME, you'll also be involved in certain operational tasks too which will give you a real understanding of the business, and see how your work in finance links to the wider business.

    *Please note that this role is 5 days a week onsite

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Work closely with the Financial Controller on month-end duties, including preparation of management information and reporting.
    • Manage the sales ledger, from posting cash receipts to ensuring compliance with credit insurance policies and handling credit control.
    • Supporting with Credit Control, including chasing overdue debtors and monthly reporting, complying with the company's credit insurance policy.
    • Take ownership of variance analysis, preparing key accruals, prepayments, and maintaining the fixed asset register.
    • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including inter-company accounts, and support cash flow forecasting.
    • Conduct stock audits and manage re-ordering levels in partnership with Operations.
    • Produce monthly departmental expenditure reports and maintain daily KPI schedules.
    • Support audits, ensuring the company's financial records are audit-ready.
    • Ad-hoc analysis and project work, contributing to ongoing improvements in processes.

    What We're Looking For:

    • Qualifications: AAT Qualified or part-qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA.
    • Experience: Ideally, exposure to manufacturing environments or SMEs. Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is advantageous.

    We are looking for someone with strong analytical and systems skills, who has experience of working in a similar role and ideally; experience of Coins accounting package (ideal), experience of embedding robust & scalable accounting/control processes and Manufacturing or engineering sector experience.

    Role Overview: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Transactional Team Leader to join a large, growing business based in Swadlincote. This hybrid role offers flexibility with two days in the office and a competitive salary of up to £33,000. As a Transactional Team Leader, you will lead a small, target-oriented team, overseeing daily activities to ensure all transactional processes and controls are delivered within agreed KPIs while fostering a positive team morale. This role involves problem-solving, reconciliations, process management, and team development to meet business objectives.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Process Monitoring: Supervise ongoing processes, including invoicing, crediting, and cash allocation, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
    • Control Checks: Oversee internal controls and monitoring checks to maintain compliance and quality standards.
    • KPI Reporting: Generate and analyse unallocated cash KPI reports.
    • Direct Debit Collections: Manage and oversee the collection of direct debits.
    • Reconciliations: Handle complex account reconciliations and oversee bad debt write-offs.
    • Audit Participation: Support internal audits by ensuring processes meet audit standards and providing required documentation.
    • Team Support: Provide guidance and support to the Transactional team to achieve their goals and foster professional growth.
    • Process Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements to processes for increased efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Policy Implementation: Establish and enforce departmental policies, procedures, and quality/service standards.
    • Team Coverage: Act as a backup for team members during sickness and holidays to maintain operational continuity.
    • Month-End Deadlines: Ensure all month-end deadlines are met accurately and on time.
    • Stakeholder Liaison: Collaborate with management and the wider team to address issues, share progress, and streamline processes.
    • Ad-Hoc Duties: Perform additional tasks as requested by the line manager.
