Job Title: New Business Team Leader
Location: Swadlincote, Hybrid (2 days in office)
Salary: Up to £35,000
Overview:

Our client, a large and fast-growing business based in Swadlincote, is looking for a New Business Team Leader to join their finance team. In this key role, you'll support the onboarding process and assist the Accounts Receivable Manager while leading a team of New Business Specialists. This position offers the chance to work in a target-driven environment, managing day-to-day queries, and ensuring high performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Onboarding & Data Management:
Lead the customer onboarding process and ensure the accuracy and completeness of master data, setting the foundation for strong client relationships and smooth financial operations. - Credit & Risk Management:
Conduct credit risk assessments and prepare credit reports to support business decisions, ensuring the company mitigates potential financial risks. - Control Application & Maintenance:
Apply and uphold key financial controls and procedures to reduce operational risks, ensuring compliance with company policies. - Fraud Mitigation:
Take proactive steps in identifying and addressing potential fraud risks to safeguard business interests. - Internal & Continuous Audits:
Lead regular internal audits to ensure compliance with procedures and maintain a high level of operational integrity. Drive continuous process improvements to streamline operations. - Team Leadership & Support:
Provide leadership to the New Business Specialists, offering guidance, coaching, and performance development to ensure the team meets and exceeds set targets. You'll also be responsible for covering team members during holidays and absences. - Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with other commercial teams to ensure alignment on goals and objectives, fostering strong inter-departmental relationships. - Project Management & Process Improvement:
Lead and organize key team projects, contributing to business-wide initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, productivity, and overall performance. - Encouraging Target-Driven Success:
Create and maintain a high-performance culture where success is celebrated, and the team is consistently motivated to meet ambitious targets. - Policy Adherence:
Ensure your team operates in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements, supporting the business's long-term success.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven Track Record:
A demonstrated history of reliability and outstanding performance in finance or business operations. - Leadership Experience:
Previous experience in leading teams, coaching individuals, and driving performance improvements in a target-driven environment. - Attention to Detail:
Exceptional focus on accuracy, especially when dealing with sensitive data and financial controls. - Adaptability:
A desire to step outside your comfort zone, embrace new challenges, and support business growth in a fast-paced environment. - Professional Qualifications:
CICM qualification or studying toward it is highly desirable, but not essential. - Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
Strong communicator, able to liaise with internal teams and stakeholders at all levels, and capable of building effective relationships with customers and commercial partners.
