    My client is recruiting a floating legal Secretary to join their business on a permanent basisin Alconbury.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide the team and wider firm with typing, secretarial and administrative support.
    • Work responsibly to support the needs of the fee earners and the priorities given delivering a quality service.
    • Assist with digital dictation and administrative support across the company in line with the Company's workflow ethic.
    • Transcribe and prepare all correspondence and documents through audiotyping and word processing, using Company precedents where appropriate;
    • Operate case management system including storing documents electronically - organising and attaching to relevant matters;
    • Deal with administrative routines as required to include scanning, faxing, printing, binding and photocopying;
    • Be involved in the efficient management of client/matter files to include general filing in a timely and accurate manner together with file opening, preparation of client care letters and terms and conditions, file closure and archiving;
    • Understand how to use the strong room including searching for and retrieving documents and procedures for sending out original documents;
    • Meet both internal and external clients' needs and ensure they are kept advised as necessary'
    • Manage incoming and outgoing mail in all mediums i.e. post, emails and fax transmissions.
    • Make appointments, arrange meetings and maintain manager/fee earners diary as required;
    • Monitoring compliance and Lexcel requirements;
    • Conduct company checks and individual AML checks as appropriate;
    • Attend clients both in person and on the telephone and to provide such support in a professional and friendly manner in keeping with the Company's standards for client care;
    • Assist the Operations team when required, including switchboard cover, franking outgoing post, file archiving and hospitality;
    • Assist the Business Support and Operations Team with routine and ad hoc tasks/projects;
    • Be flexible as a member of the wider support team and assist with work as required, co-operating with peers and others, ensuring a co-operative team environment;
    • Work within relevant administrative systems and procedures, particularly in the management of finances, recording time, preparation of bills and correspondence;
    • Ensure the confidentiality of all the company's and client's information;
    • Appreciation of legal procedures and Company protocols;
    • Any other reasonable requests from Fee Earners and/or Managers.

    Skills and experience

    • Computer literacy, with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
    • A typing speed of at least 65 wpm/90% accuracy.
    • Excellent attention to detail, including spelling and punctuation.
    • An ability to communicate effectively at all levels, to remain calm and respond well in pressurised situations.
    • An ability to organise own work effectively and plan well to meet required deadlines.
    • Evidence of a problem solving "can-do" attitude.
    • The ability to work effectively in a team environment.

    The role is working Monday to Friday 37.5 hours.

    Macildowie are delighted to be supporting a growing housing association in Cambridgeshire in the appointment of a Head of Finance Business Partnering.

    The Head of Finance Business Partnering plays a pivotal role in ensuring the financial sustainability and strategic direction of the housing association. They are responsible for overseeing the production of accurate long-term investment needs, assessing business opportunities, and providing financial leadership and support to senior management and key stakeholders.

    This critical role will lead a team in the provision of financial and strategic support to the wider organisation.

    Key Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    • Long-Term Investment Planning: Lead the production of the long-term investment needs for existing stock as part of the 30-year business plan. Ensure that the data is accurate, robust, and aligned with the strategic objectives of the organisation.
    • Business Plan Updates: Lead in-year updates to the business plan, evaluating the impact of new business opportunities, including investments in Joint Venture companies. Assess emerging risks and capacity increases, and evaluate the potential impact on regulatory compliance and stakeholder relationships.
    • Stakeholder Reporting: Produce effective and meaningful reports for the Board and external stakeholders. Present financial information in a clear and concise manner, ensuring that key messages are communicated effectively.
    • Finance Business Partnering: Develop and lead an effective finance business partnering service to budget and service managers. Incorporate methods for measuring value for money into functional plans, and provide financial challenge and support to senior managers as a constructive "critical friend."
    • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Lead the production, monitoring, and reporting of performance against budgets. Make recommendations for corrective actions to address variances identified, and support the continuous improvement of value for money across all functions.
    • Income Optimisation: Optimise income streams and ensure that value for money is obtained across all functions. Identify opportunities for revenue generation and cost savings, and provide strategic guidance to maximise financial sustainability.
    • Management Reporting: Prepare clear and concise board and management reports on financial performance, budgets, business plans, and performance information. Support the delivery of timely and reliable management accounts, enabling informed decision-making at all levels of the organisation.

    Skills and Qualifications:

    • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with significant experience in finance leadership roles within the housing sector.
    • Proven track record in financial planning, analysis, and reporting, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and stakeholder expectations.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
    • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to develop and motivate a high-performing finance business partnering team.
    • Analytical mindset, with the ability to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Strategic thinker, with the ability to align financial objectives with organisational goals and drive performance improvement initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide senior leadership and experience in the identification of improvement and transformation opportunities
    • To lead the creation of improvement/transformation blueprints, gap analysis, planning of change programmes and allocation of resources required across all projects
    • Lead programmes of transformation across specified services/areas, to deliver demonstrable improvements
