Macildowie Finance are recruiting a Management Accountant on behalf of a leading PLC in the Tamworth area on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Acting as a maternity cover for the current Management Accountant, this position will see you take full ownership of entire P&L's for various sites within the business and offer full core accounting exposure. Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will be part of a team that plays an active part in leading and supporting the company in achieving business objectives and revenue targets by providing key financial insight and control; whilst driving improvements to the operation and financial processes.
What is the job?
- Produce monthly management accounts and reconciliations for both a significant group entity and smaller subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Regularly update cash-flow forecasts, providing a clear financial outlook for the business.
- Prepare VAT returns for review and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded for the management accounts.
- Work closely with the finance team to produce Financial Management Information, supporting strategic decision-making.
- Engage in continuous learning to understand the finance function's operations thoroughly and identify improvement areas.
- Participate in ad hoc projects focused on reporting and systems enhancements, contributing to our financial infrastructure's evolution.
- Review and assist in the investigation of reconciling items prepared by the Management Accounts Clerks.
- Support the preparation of standardised information packs for statutory accounts and tax computations.
- Provide necessary documentation and explanations to Auditors, facilitating a smooth audit process.
- Ensure an effective filing system is maintained, reflecting a commitment to organisation and efficiency.
- Tackle a variety of tasks as requested by the Finance Manager, Finance Director and the wider executive team, showcasing flexibility and a proactive approach.
What are you like?
- AAT Qualified as a minimum but part-qualified CIMA/ACA/ACCA would be advantageous.
- Proficient in Excel and capable of handling complex financial data with ease.
- Detail-oriented, organised, and committed to delivering high-quality work.
- A proactive individual with a desire to complete tasks and contribute to improvements.
- A valid driving license is required as some travel between offices may be necessary.
- A true team player, eager to collaborate and support your colleagues.
Package?
- Salary of £35,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience)
- Hybrid Working (2 days working from home)
