Assistant Management Accountant | £30,000 - £35,000 | Alfreton | Leading Global Company

You could be a current Assistant Management Accountant at a company with a poor culture and no progression or perhaps you have done Management Accounts in the past and would like to dive back into a role where you can do more of that work - either way, this could be a great next step for you!

Macildowie Finance are currently working with a leading, global company in their search for an Assistant Management Accountant to support recent and ongoing business growth across the UK and Africa. This business has a nice, family-owned feel to it with a really well established Finance team based at their UK head office in Alfreton. You will work closely with the UK Finance Manager to support the month-end process for their African entities, with the potential for this to grow into supporting with UK entities too. You are someone who enjoys a challenge and can communicate confidently both within the business and to external overseas consultants.

What is the job?

  • Preparation and review of management accounts for various subsidiaries, ensuring accurate representation across multiple currencies.
  • Preparation of invoices, journals, and comprehensive monthly regional reports.
  • Offer support to senior executives by providing analysis to support financial decision-making.
  • Collaborate closely with third-party consultants by supplying information required for the preparation of payroll and financial statements, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all entities, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Develop contract profitability analysis and models, enabling the assessment of project viability and financial forecasting to support strategic planning.
  • Preparation of year-end audit information and liaise with external auditors to ensure a smooth audit process.
  • Assist in the detailed preparation of annual departmental budgets.
  • Respond to any ad hoc requests from stakeholders.

What are you like?

  • Minimum AAT Qualified (Part-ACCA/CIMA/ACA would be desirable)
  • Proven experience in management accounting or a related role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving nature.
  • Ambitious and not afraid to be stuck into a variety of tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial software applications.
  • Experience in Dynamics365 not essential but desirable.

Package?

  • Salary of £30,000 - £35,000 (depending on experience)
  • 25 Days Annual Leave + Bank Holidays
  • 4% Employer Pension Contribution
  • Early Finish on a Friday
  • Hybrid Working
