Macildowie Finance are currently recruiting a Legal Cashier for a leading law firm based in Stoke-on-Trent. You will sit alongside a small team of Legal Cashiers, reporting directly to the Head Cashier, collaborating with dedicated professionals and providing vital support to legal teams across the firm. As a Legal Cashier, your role will involve a variety of tasks including handling financial transactions, ensuring compliance, and supporting Anti Money Laundering checks.
The Finance team has a great culture and you will work alongside some friendly, approachable individuals every day with the support and guidance that you'll need to succeed. With strong staff retention and a very supportive manager, this is definitely an enjoyable firm to work for and one with an excellent heritage in Staffordshire.
What is the job?
- Posting financial transactions to purchase, nominal, and sales ledger
- Handling client payments over the phone
- Addressing staff and client queries related to ledgers
- Monitoring online banking and promptly informing legal staff of client money arrivals
- Conducting reconciliations of client funds and company ledgers
- Performing day-end and monthly reconciliations
- Ensuring financial transactions comply with Solicitor Accounting Rules
- Assisting with Anti Money Laundering compliance checks
What are you like?
- Experience within a professional services environment (Legal Practice/ Accountancy Practice)
- Previous experience as a Legal Cashier/ Finance Assistant
- Efficient time management and ability to work under pressure
- Excellent communication and team collaboration
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- AAT (desirable but not essential)
