Job Description

Macildowie are supporting a large Public Sector organisation in Leicester in the appointment of a Deputy Head of Procurement to provide a high-quality service to a wide range of stakeholders.

This newly-created post will see you lead a team in the management of a first-class procurement service, developing relationships across the organisation and ensuring value-for-money in a wide-range of complex procurements and contract management.

The role will be responsible for, but not limited to;

  • Providing advice to the organisation on appropriate procurement procedures and contract management.
  • Analysing expenditure data to monitor compliance with financial regulations, contract standing orders and EU procurement regulations.
  • Undertaking of procurement processes including writing and quality assurance of specifications, advertising contract opportunities, analysis and evaluation of tenders and writing recommendations and contractual documents.
  • Managing contracts and supplier performance, and resolving disputes.
  • Management and maintenance of electronic procurement systems.
  • Management of support functions within the Procurement and Support Services department to include Management of Procurement Managers and Purchasing Clerks.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of managing complex procurement, contracts and tenders within the public sector and be fully MCIPS qualified. You will have experience of managing a team and be a clear and confident communicator able to develop relationships with senior stakeholders across the organisation.
