Job Description
Category Manager (Professional Services) - Public Sector
Macildowie are exclusively partnering with a public sector organisation in Leicestershire who are who are recruiting for a Category Manager for a 12 month fixed term contract.
Although it is for a Public Sector organisation they are wanting an individual who ideally has a blend of both public and private sector experience.
Benefits
- £60,000 - £80,000 dependant on experience
- Hybrid working - 1-2 days on site (Office based Leicestershire) with the rest from home - flexibility to come in more if this is wanted
Role
You will be joining a busy, challenging function and so in order to be successful you need to be a proactive, solutions focussed procurement professional able to engage and influence senior stakeholders.
You will have a handover with an outgoing head but they need someone who will be able to pick up the work quickly and be able to add value within a short period.
IMPORTANT
This will be a hands on role and the day to day will require you to stretch vertically to clear through some legacy areas of work. If you want more of a purely strategic, hands off role where you are delegating to a team then this isn't the role for you.
Requirements
- 3+ years Public sector procurement experience (within the last 10 years) including end to end tendering and experience at Manager or above level
- Experience within a commercial private sector business in addition to the above
- Experience within Professional services within the last 5-10 years
