Head of Procurement (Direct/In-Direct) - Up to £85,000 Per Annum - East Midlands
Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm - Hybrid Working Available
Macildowie is delighted to have exclusively partnered with a rapidly growing manufacturing and services business based in the East Midlands to recruit a Head of Procurement to manage and lead on their Direct & In-Direct procurement activities.
The key objective is to identify key areas of cost saving in the organisation as well build and centralise an Direct & In-Direct procurement spend, managing a team of procurement professionals.
Main Responsibilities
- Responsible for ongoing management of our Procurement strategy & activity and for ensuring optimal supplier performance and price.
- Develop and implement a strategy to ensure the function is operating in line with the objectives of the business to add value, mitigate supply chain risk and deliver cost savings.
- Support strategic supplier relationships and contract management to deliver continuous improvement in the delivery of goods and services.
- Lead on supplier development plans for addressing under-performance, ensure a professional approach to sourcing, and conduct benchmarking analysis and market testing for key clients.
- Deliver complex end to end sourcing activity including sourcing plan, tenders, complex supplier negotiations and implement contract arrangements to drive supplier performance and deliver successfully to customers and the wider business.
- Grow and nurture a high performing procurement and network management team.
- Build positive relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders to ensure collaborative growth in the procurement function.
The Candidate
- Previous experience operating in a Head of Procurement position.
- East Midlands based or able to travel to Leicester, Nottingham or Derby.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Commercial acumen with the ability to lead a procurement team.
- Ability to identify cost saving opportunities.
- Experience managing procurement for a multi-site organisation.
- CIPS qualified - Desirable.
- Exposure to operating for a PE backed business - Desirable
