Senior Buyer - Up to £50,000 Per Annum - Coventry
Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:45pm - Permanent

Macildowie Supply Chain & Procurement is delighted to have partnered with a reputable and well-established manufacturing brand in Coventry to recruit a Senior Buyer.

The key objective is to build and maintain new and existing supplier relationships, sourcing raw materials across the UK, whilst providing stakeholders with supplier performance reports.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement regional strategies for direct commodities, understand key cost drivers, market trends and economics influence.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable and long term source of supply.
  • Evaluate and select new suppliers to get the best match for the business need.
  • Benchmark, monitor and audit suppliers on price, quality, delivery and capability criteria.
  • Source raw materials and services to either replace or as a benchmarking tool to seek out cost saving opportunities.
  • Engage, manage and influence senior stakeholders to ensure buy-in, utilising strong market knowledge.
  • Monitor supplier risk and performance through reporting tools and business feedback.
  • Negotiate and agree Framework Agreements; Rebate Agreements and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with Key Suppliers and valuate existing contracts to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Manage Tender and RFQ (Request for Quotation) processes including creating necessary supporting documentation.


The Candidate

  • Previous experience working as a Senior Buyer, Senior Procurement Led, Buyer or equivalent.
  • CIPS qualified or working towards.
  • Able to travel to Coventry.
  • Proficient user of Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Comfortable building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to negotiation with suppliers.
  • Manufacturing procurement background - Desirable
