Purchasing Assistant
Position: Permanent, 39 Hours per week
Location & Hours: Lincolnshire
Salary: £22,000 - £25,000 per annum based on experience

Macildowie is delighted to be recruiting for a Purchasing Assistant on behalf of a fantastic manufacturing company in the engineering industry. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join a dynamic team and contribute to the company's ongoing success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement Support: Assist in the procurement of materials necessary for the manufacturing process.
  • Chase Purchase Orders: Follow up on purchase orders to ensure timely processing and delivery.
  • Supplier Management: Develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality standards. Chase suppliers to ensure that the goods are delivered on time and confirm delivery dates.
  • Order Processing: Handle purchase orders, verify accuracy, and follow up on delivery schedules. Raise requisitions as needed.
  • Ensure the ERP system is up to date with accurate procurement information.
  • Address and resolve any invoice discrepancies or issues promptly.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the production team to ensure adequate supply.
  • Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other relevant information. Manage the purchasing mailbox to ensure all communications are handled efficiently.


Requirements:

  • Preferably experience within a purchasing environment.
  • Administrative experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Determination with learning and a charismatic approach.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
