We are proud to be supporting our National UK heritage brand that is well-known and is a leading company in the automotive arena. This role offers an exciting opportunity to grow and lead a team at an important moment!

Based in Leicestershire, the role will be driving procurement strategies as well as growing and leading a team and working cross-functionally with Purchasing, Design, Quality, Manufacturing and Aftersales.

The role will be sitting under the Head of Aftersales Procurement, this role will be vital in supporting the wider business and ensuring best practice is in place across all Procurement.

The ideal individual will have a strong Procurement background, ideally from an Automotive or Engineering background, with a proven track record of negotiation and sourcing.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead change management for the Purchasing Team, supporting NPI with the key aim of 100% availability for new model launches.
  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of the global supply market ensuring the best value, quickest and most suitable sources for new aftermarket development programmes.
  • Commercial management covering cost negotiations, contract performance and risk management.
  • Supplier capacity reviews to support any new or on-going business requirements.
  • Preparing reports and presentations for senior management.
  • Create, review and challenge processes within the department and company to ensure it is value-added.
  • Deputise for Head of Aftersales Procurement, as and when required.
  • To manage, mentor and support a team of Aftersales Buyers who are responsible for: Supply Chain Management & Inventory Management
  • To undertake and assist with projects as required by your manager.
  • Any other ad-hoc duties as required by your manager.

Ideal Candidate:

  • 7+ Years within Procurement
  • Aftersales or similar experience preferred
  • Proven track record of negotiation, best practice and contract and risk management
  • Managerial experience highly advantageous
  • Supply chain and inventory management experience advantageous
  • CIPS Level 4+ desirable
  • Strong commercial acumen
