Job Description

Macildowie are delighted to be partnering with a not for profit organisation based in North Leicestershire who are seeking to appoint a Category Manager in a newly created post to support the growing team.

Please note - public sector procurement knowledge and experience is required for this post.

The Role

This newly created position has been created to focus on developing the IT Category, managing spend, end to end tendering and ongoing contract management. You will be reporting into the Head of Procurement and whilst you won't have any line management responsibility, there is another Procurement Manager and also Procurement Administrator who support on the wider areas within the organisation.

Responsibilities

- Manage the entire procurement and contract lifecycle, starting with scoping and engaging with suppliers, and concluding with contract awards. This includes overseeing all related administrative tasks and tender management using the e-tendering portal, aligned with the planned procurement program.

- Collaborate closely with ICT and Digital teams to ensure that all licensing agreements, as well as hardware and software acquisitions, are in accordance with IT and broader business policies and strategic goals.

- Engage in contract management, which involves monthly reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) and potential risks for suppliers and contractors to the Procurement and Contract Manager. Additionally, serve as a point of escalation for teams when addressing ongoing contractor-related issues.

- Collaborating with the wider business to ensure that ICT participation is included when acquiring new or enhanced technology solutions.


Minimum Requirements:
- Recent Public sector Procurement experience in a similar level role and knowledge of the Public Contract Regulations
- End to end tendering experience
- Contract Management experience

Desirable
- CIPS Qualified
- IT/ IS Procurement experience (familiarity with hardware, software or licensing etc)

- £59,500
- Hybrid working - 2 days on site - flexibility to come in more if wanted
- 38 days annual leave including bank holidays
- CIPS study support if not already qualified
