Senior Credit Controller - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
Salary: Up to £35,000
Location: Northampton
Working Pattern - Hybrid working - Flexible working hours
The Role
In this key role, you will be responsible for overseeing the credit control and debt management functions, ensuring that all payments are collected in a timely manner, and that any issues are swiftly addressed. You will support the finance team by managing high-value accounts, overseeing billing processes, and helping to resolve any complex cases that arise.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervise and mentor a team of direct reports
- Manage the debt collection process, focusing on NHS funders and ensuring any issues or queries are resolved and escalated promptly.
- Lead debt review meetings, ensuring that debt issues are prioritised and addressed quickly.
- Monitor non-payment reasons and collaborate with colleagues across different functions to minimise impact on cash collections.
- Assist with high-value accounts and provide support on complex cases that require hands-on management.
- Provide short-term cash flow reports to senior finance team members, ensuring the cash flow remains accurate and up-to-date.
- Be the main point of contact for all credit control-related matters, liaising with both internal teams and external partners.
We are looking for a candidate who has:
- Strong experience in credit control or debt management, with a proven ability to manage high-value accounts and collections.
- A good understanding of financial systems and tools, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), with a focus on financial controls and reporting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across various teams and with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor a team.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a positive attitude towards change.
- A keen eye for accuracy and detail, ensuring that all credit control tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
