Job Title: Accounts Assistant
Location: Burton upon Trent (Hybrid - 3 days in the office, 2 days remote)
Salary: £30,000 + Great Benefits

We are delighted to be working with a fast-growing and innovative company in Burton upon Trent, seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive team in a hybrid role offering a competitive salary of £30,000 and excellent benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately processing and reconciling invoices, receipts, and payments.
  • Managing accounts payable and receivable records with precision.
  • Assisting in the preparation of financial reports and reconciliations.
  • Supporting month-end and year-end financial close processes.
  • Assisting with payroll processing and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to address and resolve financial queries.
  • Monitoring and managing expenses to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Providing support for ad hoc finance projects and operational improvements.

About You:

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Has previous experience in an accounts or finance assistant role.
  • Is skilled in using accounting software such as Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks.
  • Demonstrates strong numeracy skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Is proficient with Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
  • Communicates effectively and builds positive working relationships with colleagues and external partners.
  • Thrives in a collaborative and dynamic team environment.
  • Adopts a proactive and solution-focused approach to work.

Qualifications:

  • AAT qualified (or studying towards qualification) is highly desirable.
  • Minimum GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent) at grade C or above.
