Head of Group Accounting
Job Description
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Group Head of Financial Accounting and Reporting with a minimum of 5 years PQE and with a strong technical and statutory background, gained from working within a group or listed business environment to join our branded East Midlands client. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role within a dynamic and growing multi-site UK business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and consolidate group financial reporting in accordance with IFRS standards, ensuring precision, transparency, and compliance.
- Provide strategic financial insights to senior leadership to support data-driven decision-making across the business.
- Drive continuous improvements in the financial controls framework, enhancing financial reporting and compliance processes.
- Partner with operational and leadership teams across multiple group entities, supporting effective year end, budget planning, forecasting, and analysis.
- To manage a high-performing finance team, nurturing talent and fostering a collaborative environment.
Key Requirements:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with extensive experience in statutory, year-end and group financial accounting.
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP standards, with a strong and technically up to date accounting foundation.
- Proven experience in group consolidations, statutory reporting, and managing external audits.
- Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to present complex financial data in a clear and actionable manner.
- Leadership and team supervisory experience, with a track record of developing and inspiring finance teams and providing an exemplary business partnering service cross discipline and amongst a diverse range of stakeholders.
