Payroll & Finance Assistant

Location: Coventry, CV4
Salary: UP to £28,000 per annum
Type: Full-Time

Are you a detail-oriented and organised individual with experience in payroll and finance? Join our client's dynamic team as a Payroll & Finance Assistant, where you'll play a crucial role in supporting the finance department and ensuring the smooth operation of payroll and financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Duties:

  • Accurately record and produce weekly and monthly payroll.
  • Timely and accurate pension reporting.
  • Maintain accurate records of deductions, including CSA.
  • Produce and record P32, FPS, and EPS.
  • Generate and post payroll journals for month-end reporting.
  • Calculate and submit P11D and annual leave accruals.
  • Regularly update the headcount.
  • Monitor the payroll email inbox, responding to queries efficiently.
  • Assist with year-end accounts preparation.
  • Plan and manage your workload to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

Finance Assistant Duties:

  • Assist in reconciling 10 bank accounts, including those in 4 currencies.
  • Provide support for debtors and creditors management.
  • Assist with inter company reconciliation.
  • Undertake any ad-hoc duties as requested by the Group Financial Controller.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Respond flexibly to management requests and support the business when required.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions as necessary to support personal and professional development.
  • Ensure waste is minimized to benefit the company and the environment.

General & Legal Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain quality standards.
  • Adhere to company procedures and uphold high standards of customer service.
  • Maintain a tidy working area to support health and safety practices.
  • Attend health and safety training as required and comply fully with health and safety policies.

About You:

  • Experience in payroll processing and financial assistance is essential.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage your workload effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail, especially with numbers and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills to handle queries and liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
