Job Title: Accounts Assistant
Location: Central Northampton
Salary: £28,000 to £30,000 - Dependent on experience
Type: Permanent - Full time Office Based
Working hours: 9:00am - 17:30pm (Flexibility on this) - Monday to Friday - with a 1 hour lunch
Company Overview:
Are you currently an accounts assistant looking to take full ownership in a smaller team reporting directly to the finance controller?
Macildowie are currently working with a growing SME business, growing from 5 million turnover to 12 million in the space of 3 years. They have a very low turnover of staff and highly encourage personal development including study support for additional qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing invoices, payments, and expenses in an accurate and timely manner.
Supporting the reconciliation of bank accounts, ensuring records are up to date and correct. - Assisting with the preparation of monthly accounts.
- Maintaining and updating records, ensuring everything is well-organised and accurate.
- Liaising with suppliers and customers to resolve any queries, ensuring strong working relationships are maintained.
- Providing administrative support to the finance team as needed, helping to ensure smooth running of the department.
- Assisting with VAT returns
Qualifications and Experience:
- Possess good communication and a high level of attention-to-detail skills
- AAT Level 2 as a minimum is desirable or studying towards a professional accountancy qualification
- Minimum 2 years credit control and sales ledger experience is essential for this role
