Job Description
Interim Finance Manager - c. 12 months (maternity cover)
I am currently recruiting an Interim Finance Manager on behalf of a leading food production company based in Milton Keynes (offering a hybrid working policy.) This c.12-month role offers an outstanding opportunity for a qualified and experienced finance professional to step into a dynamic environment; taking ownership of both technical reporting, and commercial business partnering - it truly is the ideal mix!
What you'll do:
Reporting:
- Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts to ensure site performance is understood from period to period.
- Perform month-end processes and prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Assist with preparation of cost-centre budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and ensure its accuracy.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation and submission of statutory returns.
- Assist with internal and external audit work, assisting with year-end and audit processes as required.
Business Partnering:
- Liaise across departments to track KPIs, ensure accurate financial reporting, optimise expenditure, and support strategic decision making.
- Quality assurance around the due diligence on new suppliers / customers.
- Present management and accounting reports to stakeholders, Board members, and the Management team.
Ad hoc:
- Support Senior Finance Manager on ad hoc projects eg. ERP optimisation and management of control environment.
- Identify and make suggestions to improve processes, to increase efficiency, accuracy and control.
- Enhance financial reporting and data analysis via financial modelling.
What you'll need:
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or demonstrably QBE.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
- High degree of personal accountability and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Drive for continuous improvement and fostering a strong financial ethos across the business.
