Job Description

I am delighted to be working with Acivico Group, who are seeking an accomplished and experienced individual to join their board as a Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee.

Established in 2012 and wholly owned by Birmingham City Council, they are a commercial vehicle for the delivery of a range of specialist services to clients in both public and private sectors including building consultancy, design and FM.

As the Chair, you will lead the Audit and Risk Committee, ensuring its effective operation whilst providing strategic guidance and oversight on audit and risk management matters, Specifically, you will oversee the integrity of financial statements and reporting, review and approve the annual audit plan and audit scope and ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements related to financial reporting.

You will also liaise with external auditors and monitor their performance and independence. You will identify, assess, and prioritise key risks facing the organisation and monitor the effectiveness of risk mitigation strategies.


You will have held senior roles within finance, audit and or a risk-based role and demonstrate a strong knowledge of governance and financial reporting. A qualified finance professional, you will also ideally have an understanding or knowledge of working with public sector organisations given the relationship with Birmingham City Council.

Previous Non-Executive Director experience is not essential but you will ideally have an understanding or knowledge of working with public sector organisations given the relationship with Birmingham City Council.
