Job Description
Position: Credit Controller
Location: Coventry, Warwickshire
Salary: £26,000 per annum starting salary
Term: Permanent, Full-time

As a Credit Controller, you'll play a pivotal role in safeguarding the financial health of our business by ensuring responsible credit extension and prompt debt collection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Resolving billing or collection disputes and liaising with internal teams to address customer issues
- Pursuing overdue invoices through various communication channels
- Assessing the credit risk of new and existing customers
- Analysing financial data and credit reports to set informed credit limits
- Collaborating with sales and management teams to establish appropriate credit terms
- Issuing accurate and timely invoices to customers
- Maintaining comprehensive documentation of credit agreements, invoices, and payment terms
- Negotiating payment plans and terms with customers to recover outstanding debts
- Cultivating positive relationships with customers and addressing inquiries regarding invoices and outstanding balances
- Providing management with insights and recommendations for credit-related decisions
- Collaborating with the finance team to optimise cash flow and minimise bad debt risk
- Ensuring compliance with company credit policies and legal regulations
Your Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Credit Controller or in a similar financial role
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office applications
- Sound knowledge of credit management principles and practices
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to make informed decisions
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Familiarity with relevant legal and regulatory frameworks
- Professional certifications in credit management (e.g. CICM) would be advantageous
