Job Description

This role presents an exciting opportunity for someone looking to progress to a Financial Controller position within a dynamic manufacturing environment. Reporting directly to the Managing Director in Europe the Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy and ensuring robust financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the business planning process and develop financial models to optimise resource allocation
  • Define product costs and implement robust inventory and cost control measures
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Enhance forecasting accuracy for both profit and loss (P&L) and cash flow
  • Ensure timely UK and Group reporting, maintaining strong accounting procedures and controls
  • Identify and address weaknesses in the internal control environment, implementing effective procedures
  • Supervise purchase and sales ledger activities to optimise cash flow management
  • Oversee monthly and weekly payrolls, including pension provision
  • Coach and develop the Commercial Support and Finance Team
  • Generate insightful reports for general and departmental management
  • Prepare tax returns and manage year-end audit and statutory accounts

Requirements:

  • ACCA, CIMA, or ACA Qualified
  • Strong relationship-building skills with a hands-on approach
  • Effective communication and organisational abilities
  • Self-motivated with a keen understanding of business finance
  • Commercially focused with adaptability to evolving business needs
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Data-driven decision-making skills
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry
