Job Description
Position: Accounts Assistant
Location: Coventry (CV2 - Walsgrave area)
Salary: £24,000 - £26,000
Term: Permanent - Part-time or Full-time
Macildowie are pleased to be partnered with a growing organisation based in Coventry; who are recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join their small Finance team of 4/5 and assist with the processing of Sales Ledger/Purchase Ledger transactions, whilst passing customers with outstanding payments to Credit Control to chase any outstanding debt.
We are able to accommodate candidates who are looking for 30 hours - 37.5 hours per week. The role is fully office-based, but we are able to give you flexibility on working hours with the option to start/finish early or later than the standard hours of 9am-5:30pm (or 9am - 5pm with 30 minutes lunch).
Responsibilities:
- Load customer invoices onto Sage/Navision once live
- Collate customer invoices and diarise the dates in which customers need to pay and ensure all are paid within timescales (pass any others to Credit Control to chase payment)
- Ensure customer paperwork packs are correct and filed accurately
- Deal with any customer invoice queries or pass to the relevant department to resolve
- Assist with supplier invoices and diarise when they are due to be paid (and assist with loading payments)
- Create new customer and supplier accounts and input them correctly onto Sage/Navision
- Maintain and file all paperwork for customer invoices into correct folders
- Assist in sending out any missing order invoices to customers
- Raise and create any credit memos that are required for customers (liaising with sales and warehouse teams)
Requirements:
- Experience in an Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable or Accounts Assistant position (essential)
- Sage or Navision experience is advantageous
- Good Excel skills (somewhere between beginner and intermediate is a minimum)
- Excellent Administrative skills
- Great attention to detail
- Organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload
- Excellent time-keeping
- Initiative to work well individually as well as part of the team
- Positive 'can-do' attitude that can work well under pressure
