Customer Service Sales Representative
Job Description
Our client, a well-established and reputable company, is seeking a proactive and Internal Customer Service Sales Representative to join their team. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in customer service, looking to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring excellent service delivery, managing customer enquiries efficiently, and maximising sales opportunities through a proactive approach.
Key Responsibilities:
Process customer orders accurately and efficiently (manual and EDI), ensuring seamless management of the shipping schedule, order confirmations, delivery bookings, stock monitoring, and pro forma payments.
Proactively follow up on sales quotations to drive revenue growth and identify new business opportunities.
Maintain and manage a pipeline of prospective orders, ensuring timely follow-up and engagement.
Foster strong relationships with existing customers to enhance retention and satisfaction.
Process purchase orders for bespoke and non-stocked items, liaise with suppliers for invoicing, and create new product codes in line with company guidelines.
Handle inbound customer service calls, addressing inquiries and concerns professionally and efficiently.
Maintain the enquiry and quotation process by processing requests promptly, preparing quotes, investigating transport costs, and sharing relevant product information.
Log and resolve delivery issues, including processing credit requests and investigating discrepancies to find appropriate solutions.
Perform various administrative and housekeeping duties, such as order management, ship schedule monitoring, customer data updates, and system maintenance.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across departments to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
Participate in project development meetings, contributing insights and suggestions for process improvements.
Engage in continuous product and service training to enhance knowledge and performance.
Support and train team members where necessary, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
Take ownership of personal development by actively participating in training and development initiatives.
Adapt to a fast-paced and evolving work environment, demonstrating motivation and flexibility.
Additional Responsibilities (Specific to Business Unit):
Act as an internal support function for the external specification and commercial teams by managing CRM records and ensuring all business leads are pursued.
Conduct proactive customer analysis by sales region, providing monthly reports to the Construction Team Leader, and managing engagement with lapsed accounts.
Promote company products and services, making outbound calls to support marketing campaigns, including training programs and CPDs.
Conduct customer satisfaction surveys to identify areas for improvement and oversee the full customer aftercare process.
Ensure CRM records are maintained and all business leads are followed up effectively.

Previous experience in customer service-focused environment.

Qualifications:
Minimum GCSE level C/5 (Maths and English) or equivalent.
