The IT Systems Engineer role:

  • Manage and maintain Microsoft-based systems, network infrastructure, and desktop environments across the organisation.
  • Administer and optimise Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint) and Entra ID/Azure AD.
  • Provide proactive and responsive IT support via our service desk, ensuring excellent service to colleagues and end-users.
  • Implement security policies, ensuring compliance with best practices and organisational standards.
  • Assist with the deployment of new hardware, software, and system upgrades, including managing laptops and Macs.
  • Collaborate with teams to drive automation initiatives and future technology projects.
  • Take ownership of asset management, technical documentation, and ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Facilitate technical setups for meetings and events, ensuring a seamless experience for participants.

What You'll Bring:
Key skills and attributes we are looking for include:

  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and cloud-based services.
  • Expertise in managing device profiles via Microsoft Intune and scripting (PowerShell) for efficiency.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to balance ongoing tasks with new requests.
  • Understanding of networking concepts like DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, and TCP/IP.
  • A proactive approach to IT security, including experience with email gateways such as Mimecast.
  • Experience with asset management and ensuring compliance with IT policies.
  • Ability to apply service management principles (e.g., ITIL) to execute tasks efficiently.

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with security frameworks such as ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, or NIST CSF.
  • Experience using Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, and MDM tools like Jamf or Kandji.
  • Atlassian Jira and Jira Service Desk administration experience.
  • Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals, CompTIA A+, Network+, or Cisco CCNA.
