    Key Responsibilities:

    As a Finance Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the business operates efficiently and profitably by delivering accurate financial insights and supporting key decision-making processes. The focus of this role is around sales, stock valuations and gross margin performance.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Preparing and analysing sales reports, stock valuations, and gross margin performance.
    • Developing and maintaining weekly KPIs for stock control, sales invoices, and raw material purchases.
    • Supporting month-end processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries.
    • Maintaining and improving financial systems, particularly D365, to streamline operations.
    • Providing ad hoc financial analysis and collaborating with the team to support decision-making and drive process improvements.

    What do we need from you?

    • Qualifications: Part-qualified (ACCA, CIMA, or similar) or early stages of study.
    • Skills: Strong Excel skills (you'll ace the Excel test!) and experience with D365 or similar financial systems.
    • Experience: A background in management accounts or product KPIs would be ideal, as would stock valuation expertise.
    • Mindset: A collaborative team player who's adaptable, analytical, and ready to roll up their sleeves.

    A large UK manufacturer are searching for a Management Accountant to join their team in Worksop! Reporting to the Finance Manager, who has recently stepped up into their role, you'll be responsible for various different areas in finance, with a focus on reporting, costing and overheads, month end accounts, capex control, budgeting and forecasting. This is a nice varied role with plenty for you to be getting on with in a fast paced, but supportive environment and there will be opportunity for you to progress within the business too!

    Responsibilities:

    • Financial Reporting: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial information to meet management and Group Finance deadlines. Report on key financial schedules including P&L, working capital, and capital expenditure forecasts and budgets.
    • Cost Management: Account for site overhead costs and drive profit improvement by controlling and reducing these costs in line with financial targets. Prepare overhead cost estimates and oversee the preparation of key financial reports.
    • Month-End Processes: Produce month-end overhead accounts, posting accruals and prepayments, and review expenditures with cost centre managers. Prepare month-end balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all relevant backups and justifications are in place.
    • Capital Expenditure Control: Manage the site's capital expenditure, track projects in the Capex Pipeline, and conduct post-implementation reviews.
    • Budgeting and Forecasting: Complete annual budget and monthly forecasts for site overheads and capital, explaining variances and working closely with key stakeholders.
    • Financial Controls: Improve adherence to the Purchase to Pay cycle, manage customer claims, minimise aged debt, and ensure financial control in the billing process.
    • Continuous Improvement: Challenge and remove non-value-adding activities within the finance function, and support the site with ad hoc investigations and projects to improve business performance.

    What We're Looking For…

    • Qualifications: CIMA/ACCA/ACA finalist, qualified, or qualified by experience.
    • Experience: Strong financial/ management accounting experience is a must. Manufacturing experience and SAP experience are desirable but not essential.
    • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a proactive and detail-oriented approach, and the ability to work at pace with good organisational skills.
    • Attributes: An ambitious nature, a can-do attitude, and the ability to look at problems from both macro and micro perspectives.

    • Work with the Health & Safety Officer to formulate, implement and monitor the Academy's Health and Safety policy.
    • Monitor statutory Health and Safety checks, Fire Risk Assessment and update the Business Continuity Plan.
    • Line management of Premises staff if required
    • Promote the organisation to different audiences and raise the profile within the local community.
    • Liaise with local businesses and other schools for fundraising, arranging vocational experience and joint projects.

    The successful candidate must have the following:

    • Studied to a minimum standard of GCSE (grade A* - C), or equivalent, in English and Maths
    • Excellent level of oral and written communication skills
    • Good level of use of ICT including Microsoft and other finance management or accountancy systems
    • Able to work to tight deadlines, managing and prioritising time effectively
    • Self-starter, with and ability to work independently & use own initiative to overcome obstacles
    • Good level of understanding of health & safety and site management
    • Knowledge of recruitment procedures and basic HR processes
    • Proven ability in a similar role
    • Experience of managing budgets and budget monitoring
    • Experience of managing and developing staff
